Scholar Uniform Guidelines

 

It is the mission of KIPP West Atlanta Young Scholars {WAYS) Campus to prepare scholars for a journey to and through college and to live a life of choice and empowerment. We will instill in each scholar a commitment to display unity, self-determination, and the desire to engage in collective work that uplifts themselves and their community.

The uniform will consist of the following:

• Tops- Scholars may choose one of the options listed below:
  • Assigned grade level polo
  • Assigned grade level t-shirt
  • Any earned or purchased KIPP WAYS Academy t-shirt
  • Any KIPP Metro Atlanta Sports t-shirts
• Bottoms- Scholars are required to wear navy bottoms daily. Scholars may choose one of the options listed below:
  • Pants
  • Shorts
  • Skirts
  • Skorts
• Baggy, sagging bottoms, and sweatpants/joggers pants are not permitted. - Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers may not be more than 1 inch above the - KIPP WAYS outerwear (cardigan, sweater, jacket) may be worn in the building during the school day. Personal outerwear items may not be worn.

Shoes:

• All shoes must be
• No "flip-flops", "slides", sandals, crocs or
• Any shoes with a heel taller than an inch are not allowed.

 

Scholars may not wear the following:

• Tight/Spandex type clothing (this includes "jeggings")
• Any headwear such as bandanas, hats, scarves, caps, (with the exception of religious purposes and Motherland Monday)
• Gang related attire
• Makeup with excessive coloring
• Large chains or other excessive jewelry
• Attire with any reference to death (i.e. skulls, poison logos, ) or drugs

KIPP WAYS Campus reserves the right to modify this list.
